My hypothesis was that the metal would turn bright red, and when cooled in cold water would explode (just kidding, i thought it would bubble a bit and hiss). I could not predict what the result of bending the paper clips would be. Here is the data:
Regular paper clip: 7 bends
Heated and slowly cooled: 20 bends
Headed and then thrown in cold water: 6 bends
Interesting... Very interesting... Well I couldn't figure it out. The regular paper clip was... well regular, the heated and slowly cooled was super hard and refused to bend, and the water cooled paperclip was very soft and fragile. In the end I had less of an idea of what was going on than the beginning. I personally blame the paper clip.
